Description As a Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be joining a dynamic MEDITECH Professional Services team, working with clients to implement, upgrade or optimize their MEDITECH EHR to gain the highest level of safety, adoption, and return on their investment. You will be using your pharmacy knowledge, experience, and skills to advise, work alongside, and guide customers on how to fully integrate the MEDITECH pharmacy and related applications, utilizing best practices to implement and maintain a well-engineered EHR system. As a member of our Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert team, your job will involve:
Demonstrating knowledge of Pharmacy concepts, practices, and procedures used specifically within a healthcare technology environment Providing counsel, perspective, and best practice guidance on workflows, dictionary build, opportunity gaps, reporting, updating, and department utilization/operation Evaluating workflow, gap analysis, and future state design Understanding and contributing to the department's business/clinical, operational, and workflow requirements Assisting in the development build and maintenance of the advanced clinical components, such as medication order strings and order sets to streamline end-user processes Developing, monitoring, maintaining, and communicating pharmacy order sets and contra-indications Evaluating the formulary service monthly loads via Application Program Interface (API) during the implementation process Building clinical decision support screens and protocols to enhance patients' safety and streamline providers' workflow Educating end-users, clinicians, and physicians on Pharmacy specific workflows and efficient use of the system Participating with department staff, IT staff, and outside vendors in discussions involving the system, which will help direct system workflow, productivity, and end-user functionality Recommending process improvement - working closely with end-users to identify opportunities and identify problems providing solutions Serving as liaison and primary contact to the IT department, project managers, and Implementation staff during the engagement. Increasing use of the system's best practice functionality and providing quality outcomes for workflow changes within the new system Assisting in the comprehension, documentation, build, and training on the new system Travelling 80-90% of the time anywhere within the United States and Canada. What You Should Have Bachelor's degree or 4
years of practical Pharmacy experience working with MEDITECH systems (Licensed pharmacist preferred) Knowledge and experience MEDITECH applications:
Pharmacy, Billing, Registration, Order Management, and integration within the acute/ambulatory clinical applications Experience maintaining the formulary and the clinical decision support process Deep understanding of dictionary integration across applications and building processes during the implementation and maintenance of a full EHR Thorough knowledge of how Pharmacy applications are used in departmental, clinical and financial areas Pharmacy application expertise during multiple MEDITECH Implementations and optimizations, preferably with the 6.x or Expanse platforms Experience in MEDITECH Pharmacy and Order Management implementation in multi-facility organizations Experience in NPR and M-AT rules building MEDITECH READY certified, working as a member or in partnership with a MEDITECH certified consulting firm Working Knowledge of the MEDITECH Pharmacy, formulary, reporting, billing applications, and clinical workflows Setup and maintenance experience with third-party systems i.e:
Dr.First, Pyxis, Omnicell, First Data Bank, etc. Ability to utilize critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot and solve system and workflow issues Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Hold a valid driver's license.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
PharmacyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
